What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer-Part Time position at Loblolly?
Loblolly in Hobe Sound, Florida is seeking a part-time, year-round Security Officer. The position is for our afternoon Shift (2:30 pm-10:30 pm), up to 24 hours per week. Loblolly is an exclusive, private club with an 18 hole golf course, 74 slip deep water marina, state of the art Fitness Center and other exceptional amenities. Currently, the Club is undergoing a 44M renovation.
The successful candidate will provide security access control for all vendors and guests. Security Officers will perform visual and audio surveillance using cameras, technology, and in person patrols. Keeping residents, members, and employees safe will be the highest priority.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work evening shift primarily (2:30pm- 10:30pm) . Work over-time and be on call during periods of natural disasters or other emergency situations.
- Establish and maintain a working knowledge of Florida State Laws governing Security Officers and the Security profession, LHSC policies, procedures and rules, Loblolly Communities’ and Loblolly Club covenants, rules, and regulations.
- Read and comprehend legal and non-legal documents and preparing and processing of such documents as, activity reports, citations, warnings, and notices of violation Prepare investigative, and activity reports and logs including sketches, using appropriate grammar, spelling, and symbols.
- Gather information in security investigations by interviewing and obtaining statements and information from witnesses, victims and complainants.
- Effectively communicate with people both in person and by telephone by giving and receiving information and directions, mediating disputes and advising persons of laws, covenants, rules and regulations, and violations thereof.
- Communicate effectively and coherently over security radio channels by initiating and responding to radio communications. Dispatch patrol units to incidents, and emergencies, provide those units with information about the same and keep a complete radio log of all transmissions.
- Be alert and aware, through observation of unsafe conditions that may be a hazard to persons or property.
- Extinguish small fires by using fire extinguishers and other appropriate means.
- Maintain and clean equipment provided including uniforms, equipment such as vehicles, radios, computers, and the cleaning of the security gatehouse.
- Keeping alert and aware of conditions in and around the gate area when assigned to gate duty. Monitoring and operating alarm computer, entering and retrieving data on a computer, operating telephones and security radio while at the same time controlling access to the property by operating the gates and verifying the authorization of all vehicles and persons entering the property.
- Conduct visual and audio surveillance.
- Operate a patrol vehicle, golf cart, and or bicycle during both day and night conditions, and in emergency situations.
- Perform patrol operations which may involve: standing and walking for long periods of time, quickly entering and exiting security patrol vehicles; lifting; carrying and dragging heavy objects; climbing over and pulling oneself up and over obstacles; jumping down from elevated surfaces; climbing through openings; jumping over obstacles and ditches; crawling in confined areas; swimming, treading or remaining afloat in water; balancing on uneven or narrow surfaces and using body force to gain entrance through barriers.
- Perform searches of buildings and large outdoor areas, physically checking the doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are secure. Arming and disarming security alarm systems.
- Perform First Responder rescue functions at accidents, medical emergencies and disasters.
- Exercise independent judgment in determining when conditions exist which justify the use of non-lethal and deadly force in self-defense. Be proficient in the use of a variety of self-defense tools under conditions of stress, and at levels of proficiency prescribed in certification standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Avigilon systems is preferred.
- D security License.
- EMT Preferred
