Job Overview
The Lobero Theater is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our fundraising efforts and enhancing our relationships with donors, volunteers, and the community. This position requires a blend of skills in database management, event planning, relationship management, and strategic communication to effectively promote our mission and drive engagement.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes our database software Tessitura for gift entry, thank you letters, audit lists, profile management, campaign/appeal management and tracking donor interactions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Sets up pre-show events, including but not limited to invitation, courtyard prep, greeting and checking in, donor engagement throughout and clean-up.
- Solicits and manages pre-show food partnerships with local restaurants and caterers.
- Provides Youth and Community outreach support to ensure effective engagement of residency participants, local schools, partners in residency and youth-related activities.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Proficient in database management.
- Proven experience in event planning and management.
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in relationship management.
- Experience with proposal writing for grants or fundraising initiatives.
- Knowledge of nonprofit management principles is preferred.
- Understanding of wills, trusts & estate law is a plus.
- University experience or equivalent background in relevant fields is desirable.
