This is a full-time remote opportunity for an Underwriter. The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating mortgage loan applications, analyzing financial documents, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines. Daily tasks include reviewing credit and property documentation, working closely with loan officers and brokers, and delivering accurate loan decisions in a timely manner to maintain client satisfaction and company efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines, including Conventional, FHA, and VA loans
- Proficiency in analyzing credit reports, income documents, and financial ratios
- Attention to detail and accuracy in evaluating property appraisals and pertinent loan documentation
- Ability to utilize loan origination software and related underwriting tools effectively
- Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent underwriting experience)
- FHA DE (Direct Endorsement) and VA LAPP/SAR certifications are preferred
