This role focuses on designing and delivering resilient, maintainable microservices that power customer-facing and internal applications. The successful candidate will combine solid engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience using modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to increase throughput while maintaining high quality and reliability.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable RESTful microservices using Java and Spring Boot (or comparable enterprise frameworks).
- Author clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with a strong emphasis on Test Driven Development (TDD).
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools to automate build, test, and deploy processes.
- Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive unit, integration, and contract testing coverage.
- Containerize services with Docker and deploy to Kubernetes (EKS), ensuring observability, autoscaling, and reliability.
- Implement security best practices across services, including authentication, authorization, and secret management.
- Work with product managers and designers to translate requirements into pragmatic technical solutions and ship on schedule.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement of system performance and operability.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 4 years of equivalent professional software engineering experience.
- Proven experience building production microservices using Java, Spring Boot, or similar enterprise frameworks.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservice-based architectures.
- Experience with ORM tools for data modeling and database interactions (JPA/Hibernate or similar).
- Strong proficiency with PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases: schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations.
- Practical experience containerizing applications with Docker and deploying to Kubernetes (EKS or similar).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, pipelines, or equivalent) and automated testing practices.
- Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate high-quality delivery.
