Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting, replenishment, and updating of warehouse management systems (WMS) like AS400 or RF scanners.
- Perform order picking, packing, and shipping & receiving tasks to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Conduct materials handling activities including heavy lifting, stacking, and organizing products for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety standards by following proper procedures for heavy equipment operation and mechanical knowledge.
- Assist with warehouse distribution processes by coordinating stock movement and supporting warehouse supervisor directives.
- Support packaging operations for outgoing shipments and ensure all items are correctly labeled and prepared for delivery.
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience involving inventory management, order picking & packing, or shipping & receiving is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, or pallet jacks; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms for inventory tracking.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment use.
- Mechanical aptitude or construction background is advantageous for understanding equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Experience in manufacturing or logistics environments that require stock control and materials handling skills.
- Prior supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is beneficial but not mandatory; candidates should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team dedicated to efficiency and safety.
