Job Title: Account Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: Director of Customer Operations
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing client relationships within the transportation and logistics industry. This role involves serving as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, identifying opportunities for growth, and collaborating with internal departments to deliver effective transportation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and assigned customers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with customers.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs and transportation requirements.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow business within existing accounts.
- Monitor key account performance metrics and ensure service levels meet or exceed expectations.
- Coordinate with tracking teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Resolve client issues or concerns quickly and effectively.
- Prepare and present proposals, performance reviews, and business plans to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, pricing, and service agreements.
- Stay informed about industry trends, pricing models, and competitor activity.
- Monitor KPI’s related to team performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in account management, sales, or customer service, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Experience with managing multiple accounts and meeting performance targets.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of freight services (ie. Truckload, LTL, intermodal, drayage).
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts and meet performance targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment with occasional site or client visits.
- May require extended hours during peak business periods or to address urgent client issues.
