We're looking for dependable professional drivers who take pride in their work, take care of their equipment, and can be trusted to do the job without someone standing over their shoulder.
Job Description
We're hiring a full-time CDL Dump Truck Driver to operate a tri-axle dump truck in Nashville and the surrounding area.
This is local work and drivers are generally home daily. Start times and schedules vary depending on customer needs, weather and available work.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate an assigned tri-axle dump truck
- Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Immediately report mechanical problems, damage or safety concerns
- Maintain and submit all load tickets and required daily paperwork
- Accurately report hours worked and daily activity
- Follow dispatch instructions and communicate delays, breakdowns or job changes
- Take care of assigned equipment and keep the truck reasonably clean
- Follow DOT requirements, company safety policies and jobsite rules
- Represent Load Brothers professionally with customers and contractors
- Use company fuel cards, equipment and property for authorized company business only
What We Expect
Driving is only part of the job. Taking care of the truck, turning in your tickets, accurately reporting your time and communicating with us are also part of the job.
We don't expect drivers to be mechanics. We do expect you to pay attention to your equipment and tell us when something isn't right.
We also expect honesty. If you hauled it, we need the ticket. If you worked it, we need an accurate record of the time.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL
- Valid DOT medical card
- Acceptable driving record
- Dump truck or similar heavy-truck experience preferred
- Reliable and punctual
- Working phone and able to communicate during the workday
- Able to safely operate on construction sites, quarries and uneven terrain
- Manual-transmission experience may be required depending on assigned truck
