What are the responsibilities and job description for the Beach Attendant position at LNC Services, Co.?
LNC Services, Co., an environmental consulting company operating in Florida. We're a Woman-owned Small Business (EDWOSB) and we have several opportunities for people interested in a temporary job or pursuing careers in marine construction, disaster recovery, and/or environmental engineering. Soon, the Hurricane and Storm Damage Reduction Project will begin in Venice Beach for beach renourishiment to restore the beach. We're subcontracted for the beach-nesting bird surveys and beach security tasks, and they expect to start in mid-May.
WHAT: Beach Access Monitors (public safety on active construction site) & Beach Construction Escorts (staff to ensure heavy equipment doesn't impact birds or nests) Needed
WHERE: Venice Beach, FL (hotel provided if you're not local)
WHO: LNC Services, Co. (environmental consulting) with Weeks Marine, Inc. (marine construction) for United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
WHEN: expected start date is mid-May; project should last about 40 days/nights (day and night shifts available)
WHY: To add sand back to Venice Beach, restoring hurricane damage and raising the dune to add better flood and wind protection from future storms - Access Monitors protect the site and keep the public safe from dangerous conditions; Construction Escorts make sure equipment moves and is places in areas free of nesting birds and nests, and keep the public safe from dangerous conditions. These positions are entry-level and often lead to work on additional projects in the same role, and provide experience and opportunities to move on to different and permanent roles in this industry.
