The ideal candidate will have experience programming CNC machines for the fabrication of components used in injection mold tooling. This role requires strong knowledge of machining process, CAD/CAM software, and electrode design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program CNC tool paths for mills, lathes, and/or EDM machines to produce components for injection mold tooling.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and engineering specifications to fabricate precision tooling.
- Optimize machining strategies for efficiency, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy.
- Set up and prove out CNC programs on the shop floor, adjusting as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve mold designs and manufacturability.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres to safety protocols.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming, preferably in a mold making environment.
- Proficient in MasterCam software. Mazatrol is a plus.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, and materials used in mold construction.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and interpreting 3D models.
- Experience designing electrodes for use with Sinker EDMs is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize urgent jobs that impact downstream operations while balancing overall shop efficiency.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
