Moonlight Basin's Food & Beverage department is currently seeking candidates for a Banquet Captain.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The purpose of the Banquet Captain is to works as the liaison between several different parties and departments, including the event host, guests, chef & kitchen staff, the banquet manager, serving stafff and bar staff. The Banquet Captain's main goal is to ensure guests' overall satisfaction and happiness at the function by calling on their efficient banquet staff.
The position offered is a full-time, seasonal position located in Big Sky, Montana.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide training, coaching and counseling to all F&B employees under their assigned outlet
- Follow established policies and practice for the banquets department
- Provide a level of service that meets the highest standards in the Hospitality industry
- Oversee staff to ensure crews are utilizing department practices for consistency
- Assist Management to lead the service team through the event from start to finish
- Converse with the Membership and guests in a hospitable and professional manner
- Lead the service team in the set-up and break-down of the following- Tables, chairs and other event specific furniture.
- Lead the service team in the set-up and break-down of the following- Chafers, heat lamps, beverage stations, bars, plateware, glassware, silverware and other event specific equipment
- Always keep a neat and clean workspace in the BOH
- Always keep the FOH member ready
- Assist management with inventory and keeping track of what items need to be re-ordered.
- Ensure that each member and guest receive outstanding guest service in a guest friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every member and guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of guest service.
- Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing Moonlight Basin professionally with our members and guests and assure that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
- Understand and apply all property safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees, members, and guests at all times. In the event of an accident or emergency, seek medical attention if necessary and contact the General Manager or Human Resources immediately.
KEYS TO SUCCESS:
- High school diploma, GED or vocational training or job-related course work
- 2 years plus of Food & Beverage experience; hospitality setting desired, but not required
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Office systems
- Demonstrate strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Capable to manage multiple priorities, work independently and take initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Driver’s License
- Meet company driving policy
