Summer Camp Counselor
Summary: LML Compass Care, a part of the Let Me Learn, Inc. non-profit, is the before and after school care program for Compass Academy Charter School. We are seeking part-time summer camp counselors to work with children in grades Pre-K4 through 6.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in day to day operation of the program; carry out its functions, policies, and procedures.
• Create and maintain current and accurate records or reports and maintain their confidentiality
• Maintain safety standards, inform the Program Manager of any unsafe conditions, equipment, or ill children.
• Maintain an orderly and clean environment.
• Implement safe, organized play time activities and specialized camp activities, such as art and culture, life and social skills, nutrition and cooking, and civic engagement
• Fulfill other administrative and supervisory roles as may be delegated by the Program Director and/or Executive Director.
• Participate in staff development and training programs directly relating to LML Compass Care; attend staff meetings as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Someone who is available to work between 7 am and 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
• Associates degree is a minimum. Bachelor’s degree preferred (in progress considered).
• Someone who can lead structured organized games with the children.
• Someone who can manage children.
• Strong commitment to providing high quality programming for youth.
• Must consent to the following screening requirements as a condition of employment: (1) NJ Department of Human Services Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) Background Check and (2) NJ Department of Human Services Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:

• It is STRONGLY preferred the candidate is vaccinated for COVID-19.
• Bachelor’s degree (in progress considered).
• Certified teachers are encouraged to apply.
• Education background and/or experience working with children is STRONGLY preferred.
