What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Staff position at LMK Inc?
L.M.K. Incorporated is a Supported Living provider in Pullman, WA and we support adults with developmental disabilities in their homes. Most of our clients live with roommates who also have developmental disabilities and our Direct Care Staff members are in those homes 24 hours a day. We also serve a few individuals that live by themselves, on a more limited basis (i.e. a few hours a day, most days of the week).
Currently, we are hiring for part and full time, "morning" shifts (hours are between 7 am and 5 pm) and "swing" shifts (hours are between 12 pm and 10 pm). Full-time schedules are either Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs.
Qualifications required: 18 years of age, High School diploma or GED equivalent, pass a criminal background check, and be able to perform light house cleaning duties including lifting 50 pounds.
Qualifications preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (NAC) or a Home Care Aide (HCA) in Washington. Experience working with individuals similar to the clients we serve; the ability to work independently; medical charting and record keeping, strong cleaning skills and work ethic.
Training requirements for this position include: 5 hours of safety and orientation training; 40 hour DDA Residential Services Training; and 30 additional hours of training that usually includes client specific Peer Coaching, CPR and First Aid, and blood borne pathogen/HIV training (75 hours total). There are some exemptions from this training, such as being a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), which can be discussed during an interview.

COVID-19 considerations:
New staff must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 before starting. We wear KN95 mask and face shields when working with our clients, temperature is taken daily and other Covid symptoms are monitored for, and we disinfect twice daily and have air purifiers.
