The steward will work closely with senior stewards, data engineers, and business stakeholders to operationalize governance practices and enable analytics modernization.
What you’ll do:
- Assist in maintaining the business glossary and data catalog for assigned domains.
- Apply established data standards and quality rules to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Monitor data quality KPIs and escalate issues for resolution.
- Partner with business units to improve data fluency and adherence to governance policies.
- Participate in data design sessions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
- Support onboarding of new data elements into governed processes.
- Capture and maintain metadata for critical data elements (CDEs).
- Document lineage and authorized data sources for assigned domains.
- Define and Validate data against quality rules and report exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance governance processes and tools.
- Contribute to governance training and awareness initiatives.
- 3–5 years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or related data management roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, and business glossary practices.
- Experience maintaining metadata for critical data elements, including lineage and authorized sources.
- Proficiency monitoring and validating data quality using defined rules, KPIs, and escalation processes.
- Familiarity with governance tools such as Collibra, Atlan, or Precisely, and basic SQL for data analysis.
- Ability to apply data governance principles, policies, and frameworks across assigned domains.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with business and technical teams.
