We are seeking a motivated and skilled Excavator/Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks to facilitate various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure safe, efficient, and precise execution of excavation and equipment tasks that drive project success. Responsibilities
- Operate excavators and a variety of heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and horizontal drilling machinery to perform excavation, grading, hauling, and site preparation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure safety and proper functioning.
- Follow detailed project plans and specifications to execute excavation and earthmoving activities accurately.
- Collaborate with site managers and team members to coordinate equipment usage and ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operating procedures.
- Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed to minimize downtime.
- Document operational activities, including hours worked and maintenance performed, in accordance with company policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, or dump trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on machinery.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification for operating large vehicles such as dump trucks or water trucks.
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is a plus.
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of various machinery brands like Caterpillar is preferred.
