POSITION SUMMARY
Manage the day-to-day and long term operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage the daily operations of the Housekeeping, and where applicable, the Laundry departments. Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning of the departments. Manage the selection, training and development of associates with an eye toward maximum associate satisfaction, productivity and guest satisfaction.
Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure adherence to cleanliness and maintenance standards. Manage operating expenses to maximize costs while providing excellent guest services.
Coordinate department’s activities with other departments to facilitate increased levels of communication and guest satisfaction. Bear ultimate responsibility for monitoring consumption and ordering replacement of guest and cleaning supplies.
Oversee divisional matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.

Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the associate acting as a team leader. There is minimal direct supervision.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum five years management experience with at least three years in housekeeping management at progressively higher levels of responsibility.
GROOMING
All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well groomed appearance (specific standards available).

OTHER
Upon employment all associates are required to comply with the standards, rules and regulations which may be established by the Company and updated from time to time. Associates who violate property rules or have irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
The Hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules, weekends, holidays and overtime to reflect the business needs of the property. Associates may also be required to attend group and/or department meetings in addition to the work shift as necessary. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
