Role Overview:
Will act as the credit analyst on a broad portfolio of Financial Sponsors clients. As part of this role, the candidate will undertake an independent credit risk assessments of portfolio and individual transactions with the aim of supporting responsible business growth within Lloyds Bank North America and manage existing credit exposure.
Responsibilities
- Help manage portfolio of existing and new to bank Financial Institutions and/or Large Corporates clients by undertaking full credit analysis, due diligence, control and exposure monitoring processes.
- Support the process to ensure sound asset quality by monitoring of each counterparty via the annual renewal process (more frequent reviews are mandatory for medium and high risk counterparties)
- together with regular management information, trends in performance, news flow etc to ensure the early identification of deteriorating credit quality and recommendation of an appropriate course of action.
- Work proactively with the Front office colleagues to determine most appropriate credit terms for the credit documentation, ISDA/CSA and covenants.
- Build knowledge of the sectors and areas of business where credit involvement and responsibilities are held as well as maintaining an appreciation of the wider Lloyds Banking Group North America business markets and credit implications.
- Spread and analyse borrowing base information and generate supportable counterparty risk ratings.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and the Credit network in order to ensure the efficient operation of the Credit function.
- Contribute to project initiatives, taking responsibility for the development and implementation of specific deliverables and ensuring these are achieved within the required time, cost and quality parameters.
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with all Bank and governmental rules and regulations that apply to their job (details of such rules and regulations can be obtained from the employee's supervisor and/or Local Compliance Dept).
- Responsible for reporting to the Head of Credit or Head of Compliance any non-compliance with Lloyds Banking Group or governmental rules or regulations that may come to the employee's attention in the course of their employment.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the relevant field or in similar financial institution
- Advanced degree in relevant field from recognized university
- Professional certifications relevant to the role are a plus
