Role Responsibilities
Building & Site Maintenance
- Ensure all buildings, workshops, offices, and external areas are safe, clean, and well maintained inc grassed areas.
- Carry out or coordinate routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections
- Manage preventative maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns and downtime
- Oversee external areas including parking, lighting, drainage, and signage
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency repair
- Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and compliance files
- Produce reports on maintenance activity, costs, and compliance status
- Track outstanding issues and ensure timely resolution
- Act as key point of contact for facilities-related issues
- Support department managers with facilities requirements
- Respond professionally to staff and visitor concerns
- Manage small works, refurbishments, and site improvement projects
- Coordinate layout changes, office moves, and upgrades
- Manage cleaning, waste disposal, recycling, and pest control services
- Ensure site security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) are operational
- Source, manage, and monitor external contractors and service providers
- Ensure contractors follow site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Agree scopes of work, timelines, and costs
- Monitor contractor performance and quality of work
- Ensure all contractor documentation (RAMS, insurance, accreditations) is up to date
- Ensure site compliance with all Health & Safety regulations
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
- Manage statutory checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, PAT testing, gas, water hygiene, lifts, etc.)
- Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation
- Act as point of contact for H&S audits and inspections
