The Learning Center at Lincoln Land Community College is seeking motivated and supportive professionals to join our team as Tutors! Professional Tutors provide one-on-one and small group academic support to LLCC students across a variety of courses. Professional Tutors play a vital role in helping The Learning Center foster a welcoming and supportive environment that empowers students to seek academic support and develop as confident, independent learners. Tutors will perform the following duties:Assist students with specific course-related concepts and problems in one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions.Help students learn how to:Develop effective study strategies Use supplementary learning materials Communicate with their professors Clarify classroom and textbook content Understand and apply academic rules, definitions, and concepts Work through sample problems and examples.Meet regularly with the Tutoring Coordinator to reflect on tutoring practices, discuss observations from sessions, explore the use of various learning strategies, and address any potential challenges.Participate in scheduled staff meetings and training. Maintain accurate records of student appointments.Professional tutors will be paid $35/hour and will be scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week.The Paid Leave for All Workers Act allows part-time employees to earn 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours worked.
