Lincoln Land Community College is seeking Lab Assistants to ensure labs, tools, and equipment are maintained, safe, and ready for instruction for workforce institute programs. Lab Assistants are responsible for the following duties:Maintain tool areas: oversee check-in/check-out, repair or replace tools, demonstrate proper use, maintain accurate inventories, and ensure tools meet calibration and safety standards.Fabricate and repair training aids for lab use, requiring welding, cutting, metalwork, and mechanical skills; follow manufacturer service information and safe work practices.Perform routine maintenance and light repairs on lab vehicles and equipment, including cars, trucks, agricultural, and construction equipment.Procure parts and supplies for lab activities and repairs; operate school vehicles as needed.Prepare lab stations: set up and organize equipment, assist with “bugging” equipment, and coordinate equipment pickup with industry partners as needed.Move equipment into and out of storage facilities.Maintain general lab cleanliness, including routine interior and exterior cleanup to ensure safe and organized workspaces.Drive school vans for field trips.Assist with career expos and other recruiting events.Perform other duties as assigned.The Paid Leave for All Workers Act allows part-time employees to earn 1 hour of PTO for every 40 hours worked.
