About the Internship Program
The Llama Ventures Summer Analyst Internship is a 9-week immersive program designed to introduce students to early-stage venture capital, startup ecosystems, and the fundamentals of investing. Interns gain hands-on exposure to sourcing, evaluating, and supporting innovative startups, while directly contributing to internal strategic and operational initiatives.
This internship is fully in-person in our San Francisco office and offers significant mentorship, responsibility, and visibility within a growing venture firm.
Program Dates: June 15, 2026 – August 14, 2026
Location: San Francisco/ Sunnyvale, CA (In-person)
Your Role
- As a Summer Analyst Intern, you will work directly with our investment and platform teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Investment Research & Analysis
- Conduct deep-dive research on frontier technology sectors, emerging markets, and competitive landscapes
- Support investment diligence efforts, including market modeling, financial analysis, and technical synthesis
- Assist in evaluating early-stage companies across AI, developer tools, infrastructure, and related domains
- Founder & Portfolio Support
- Support portfolio companies through research, product exploration, ecosystem mapping, and special projects
- Assist team members in founder meetings, deal memo preparation, and development of investment materials
- Platform & Firm Building
- Contribute to internal tools, workflows, and processes as the firm scales
- Create research briefs, resources, and strategic insights to support founders and the investment team
- Participate in emerging initiatives related to LP engagement, community programs, and brand development
- Case Study Project
- Complete a multi-week investment case study simulating a real-world decision process
- Deliver a final presentation to the investment team
About You
We are looking for candidates who are curious, analytical, and excited to learn within a dynamic startup-like environment.
Qualifications
- Rising senior completing a bachelor’s degree in 2027
- Available for the full 9-week program
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with Notion, Airtable, or CRM tools is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
