Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team on a specific job based out of Vicksburg, MS. This position requires a safety-conscious individual with experience in heavy equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow designated routes and adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and project-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with crews, supervisors, and other personnel to load and unload materials efficiently.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, hours, and materials transported as required.
- Ensure proper handling of loads in compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Assist with minor on-site tasks as needed, such as securing loads or clearing debris from loading areas.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of [1-2 years] experience operating a dump truck or similar heavy machinery.
- Ability to lift up to [50 lbs.] and perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in construction hauling projects.
- Knowledge of local roads and disposal sites locally
- Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
Compensation:
- Paid as a % of tonnage achieved each day. Other incentive-based pay would also apply.
