A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- System Administration: Administer and configure on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure services, including, but not limited to, virtual environments (VMware, Nutanix AHV), server operating systems (Windows, Linux), and O365 environments (Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams).
- Active Directory Management: Manage user objects, computer objects, and security groups within Active Directory. Implement and maintain DNS and Group Policy configurations.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor and maintain core and backup systems. Regularly audit and test disaster recovery policies and procedures to ensure system resilience.
- Documentation and Standards: Maintain accurate system documentation and standards for IT infrastructure. Create and update existing documentation.
- Innovation and Integration: Research and recommend new technological innovations that can enhance system efficiency. Integrate new services and technologies into the existing infrastructure.
- Automation: Implement automation scripts and processes to streamline system administration tasks.
- After-Hours and Remote Support: Participate in after-hours maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. Provide support for remote sites, including occasional travel.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft, or cloud-based certifications
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Occasionally required to lift or move objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data for making informed decisions.
- Keen on automating repetitive tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of mentoring junior staff and leading project teams.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced knowledge of computer networking (switches, firewalls, VLANs)
- Proficient in Active Directory management.
- Proficient in scripting with PowerShell or Batch files.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server Administration.
- Experience with O365 administration.
- Experience with Virtual/SAN storage environments.
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Systems.
- Experience with VMware infrastructure.
- Experience with Nutanix infrastructure
