A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or managing the engineering work on a project of limited scope.
- Planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating engineering work involving conventional practices with complex design challenges.
- Supporting Project Managers by serving as an Assistant Project Manager or Assistant Project Engineer.
- Providing direction and mentorship to less experienced engineers or technical support personnel as needed.
- Exercising independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Identifying additional information needed from clients and coordinating directly within LJA to gather required data.
- Making informed decisions regarding alternative design procedures when information is incomplete.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality design deliverables and timely project completion.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or application submitted and awaiting registration.
- 5 years of post-graduate experience in site engineering for retail, industrial, institutional, commercial, or multifamily projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client and internal relationships.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across multiple project types.
- Ability to manage design tasks independently and adapt to evolving project requirements..
