POSITION OVERVIEW: As an Assistant Construction Manager at LJA Land Development, you will be responsible for supporting construction management services by operating as an extension of the Construction Manager for field activities, project monitoring, and issue resolution.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Supports oversight of construction activities by verifying work aligns with plans, specifications, and field conditions.
• Provides field-level coordination between contractors and inspectors, escalating key issues to the Construction Manager as needed.
• Attends on-site construction meetings as required and attends pre-construction meetings.
• Conducts regular site visits to observe construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with standards.
• Reviews plans, submittals, and field conditions to identify discrepancies and support constructability awareness.
• Assists in QA/QC efforts by identifying potential deficiencies or non-conforming work and reporting findings.
• Supports documentation and administrative processes (RFIs, reports, pay application inputs, and project records).
• Helps to coordinate contractors, utilities, and site activities to maintain workflow and minimize disruptions.
• Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness in the field, supporting the Construction Manager in resolving day-to-day project challenges.
  
  

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma
  
  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 12 years of experience
• Ability to effectively multitask across multiple projects and internal/external contacts.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem solving and decision making.
• Time management.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships
