POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Sr. Vice President at LJA Transportation, you will manage and direct corporate engineering for the transportation division. The priorities for this position include strategic planning, product design, quality assurance and problem resolution. The senior vice president of engineering must execute product design to meet company objectives, collaborate with management and develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
- Develop and direct procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
- Ensures current and accurate costing (including specials) in conjunction with finance.
- Manages engineering budget.
- Manages product design from design to execution.
- Recommends methods, materials, and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing needs and capabilities.
- Builds develop and manage engineering team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives.
- Ensure project schedules, deadlines and budgets are well communicated and executed.
- Project budgeting and preparation of proposals, and other business development initiatives.
- Travel frequently as needed for client and agency meetings, and occasional site meetings.
- Ensure quality control and timely delivery of project deliverables to meet the client’s needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for a volume of at least $10 - 25 million worth of business operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- P.E. License
- 10 year’s managerial experience
- 10 years of experience in transportation engineering
- Experience with TXDOT
