Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and energetic Traffic Control Flagger to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic around construction sites and civil infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around active construction zones using standardized hand signals and signage.
- Set up and remove traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and warning signs to establish safe work zones.
- Communicate clearly with construction teams, drivers, and pedestrians to coordinate safe passage through or around work areas.
- Monitor the site continuously for safety hazards or non-compliance with traffic control plans, reporting issues promptly.
- Assist with the setup of temporary traffic signals or flagging stations in accordance with ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) standards and guidelines.
- Support heavy equipment operation by guiding machinery operators during site movements when necessary.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and safety checks to ensure compliance with project standards.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction site roles or traffic control is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks such as setting up barriers or lifting signage safely.
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools and equipment is a plus.
- Strong understanding of ATSSA regulations concerning traffic control and commercial vehicle safety standards.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, perform manual tasks, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Construction experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
