We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Table Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC plasma cutting machines to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. The ideal candidate has experience with fabrication processes, understands blueprints, and is committed to safety and precision.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and operate CNC plasma cutting tables to cut metal parts accurately and efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders
- Load raw materials (steel, aluminum, or stainless) onto cutting tables
- Select appropriate cutting parameters (amperage, speed, gas type)
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, squares)
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues
- Maintain clean and organized work area (5S standards preferred)
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams as needed
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience operating CNC plasma or similar cutting equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic computer skills for loading and adjusting CNC programs
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SheetCam, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
