Job Description:

As a Concrete Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for concrete construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, and labor requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple bids and deadlines efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Estimating:

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for concrete projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing analysis.

Bid Preparation & Submission:

• Develop comprehensive bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Ensure bids are completed and submitted within required deadlines.
• Clarify project scope and respond to RFIs as needed.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination:

• Work with Purchasing Department to solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.

Cost Analysis & Budget Support:

• Analyze project plans and specifications to identify options and recommend cost-effective solutions.
• Assist project teams with budget handoff and scope clarification upon award.
• Track historical cost data for future estimating accuracy.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with project managers, field teams, and leadership to ensure accurate scope coverage.
• Communicate clearly regarding project risks, assumptions, and pricing strategy.

Safety & Compliance Awareness:

• Maintain knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and construction best practices as they relate to estimating.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in concrete construction estimating.
• Strong understanding of concrete methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and time management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
