Tube Laser Operator - Weekend Day Shift w/ Shift Premium

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tube Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team on the weekend day shift, Friday - Sunday, with $5.00/hour shift premium pay. In this role, you will operate advanced tube laser cutting machinery to produce precision-cut metal components, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient workflow. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical troubleshooting will be essential to meet production goals and maintain safety standards. Duties

• Set up and operate tube laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignment for precise cuts.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to determine specifications and material requirements.
• Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software.
• Conduct dimensional measurements using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to verify part accuracy.
• Troubleshoot industrial equipment issues promptly, performing minor repairs or coordinating maintenance as needed.
• Handle materials safely using forklifts and other warehouse equipment, ensuring proper materials handling and storage.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to safety standards in production environments.
• Follow quality control procedures to ensure parts meet strict specifications and manufacturing standards.
• Document production activities accurately and complete shift reports for continuous process improvement.

Experience

• Proven experience operating tube laser cutting machinery or similar CNC equipment in a manufacturing or factory setting.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, shop math, GD&T principles, and precision measurement instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication tools like press brakes, stamping presses, CNC mills, lathes, and hand tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment issues efficiently while maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior warehouse experience involving materials handling with forklifts is preferred.
• Solid understanding of safety protocols in manufacturing environments and adherence to quality control procedures.
• Basic computer skills for operating CNC software systems like SolidWorks or CAD programs are advantageous.
