Elementary Teacher - Long-Term Substitute
Anticipated October 2026 through June 2027
Livonia Central School District is seeking a flexible, student-centered elementary educator to serve in a full-year long-term substitute position for the 2026-2027 school year.
The position will include several anticipated long-term substitute assignments across the Elementary School. During periods when the employee is not assigned to a specific classroom or long-term leave replacement, the individual will serve as a building substitute and provide instructional coverage and support based on student and building needs.
Anticipated Assignments
- Prekindergarten: anticipated beginning October 14 for approximately 12 weeks
- Reading: anticipated October 29 through January
- Fourth Grade: anticipated January through March
- Kindergarten: anticipated February through May
- Additional instructional or substitute teaching assignments as needed throughout the school year
The anticipated dates are approximate and subject to change based on leave dates and District needs. Some assignments may overlap, and the District may adjust assignments or appoint additional long-term substitutes as necessary.
Job Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- NYS certification in both Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) and Childhood Education (Grades 1-6)
- effective collaborative skills and the ability to work successfully as part of a team
- experience supporting a range of student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
- strong classroom management and problem-solving skills
- a proactive, flexible, and solution-focused approach to meeting student needs
- the ability to transition successfully between grade levels, classrooms, and instructional settings
