Livius Prep is seeking a highly motivated MCAS Instructor to join our partnership program with Mystic Valley Regional Charter School in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This in-person teaching role will focus on preparing 10th-grade students for MCAS testing and supporting 11th-grade students with advanced test preparation in Mathematics and English Language Arts (ELA)/Verbal Reasoning.

Position Overview

The MCAS Instructor will provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction designed to strengthen students' academic skills, confidence, and test-taking strategies. The ideal candidate will be experienced in teaching high school students, able to build meaningful relationships with learners, and passionate about helping students achieve success on state assessments and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted MCAS preparation instruction in Mathematics

• Prepare 10th-grade students for MCAS testing through focused skill development and practice assessments.

• Support 11th-grade students with advanced verbal and quantitative reasoning skills and college-readiness test preparation.

• Teach effective test-taking strategies, problem-solving techniques, time-management skills, and reading comprehension methods.

• Create an inclusive, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment.

• Inspire students through authentic mentorship and meaningful connections.

• Monitor student progress, assess performance, and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain accurate attendance records and submit timely session notes and progress reports.

• Collaborate effectively with school personnel and the Livius Prep team.

• Participate in training and professional development opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; teaching certification preferred.

• Minimum of one year of experience teaching, tutoring, or working in a classroom setting.

• Strong knowledge of high school Mathematics and English Language Arts content.

• Familiarity with MCAS standards, testing formats, and preparation strategies preferred.

• Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.

• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to complete a federal I-9 form and background check.

Employment Details

• Location: Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, Marlborough, MA

• Schedule: Thursdays and Fridays, 10:30 AM–4:00 PM

• Term: 2026–2027 Academic Year

• Class Size: Approximately 5–30 students

• Compensation: Starts at $30 per hour, based on experience

• Training: Paid and ongoing professional development provided

• Materials: Curriculum guides, lesson resources, and testing materials supplied

• Commitment: 2026-2027 academic year
