Duties
- Assist in supervising and engaging children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Support lead teachers by helping with classroom routines, including snack time, nap time, and outdoor play
- Step into various classrooms as needed to provide coverage, maintaining consistency and stability for children
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health protocols to ensure a safe environment for children
- Support behavior management strategies to foster positive interactions and classroom harmony
- Maintain clean and organized classroom spaces, including toys, learning materials, and supplies
Skills
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly valued
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in pediatric first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong understanding of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Ability to adapt quickly across different classrooms and age groups (infants to toddlers)
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, parents, and caregivers
