JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for supervising the nutritional care of adults, adolescents, and Swing Bed patients at Livingston HealthCare upon physician order. This will include elements of the following: assessing nutritional status, developing nutritional care plans, managing therapeutic diets and supplements, as well as parenteral and enteral support. Works in collaboration with the Food and Nutrition Services Manager. Performs special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

Compensation:
- $28.37/hr DOE
- PRN Differential
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrates competence in all practice areas and competently communicates and documents nutritional recommendations in the medical record, and verbally to the physician as appropriate.
- Assesses the nutritional needs, develops, and implements nutrition care plans, evaluates, and reports these results appropriately to the health care team including the medical staff. Cooperates and coordinates with the Manager of Food and Nutrition Services.
- Provides input into patient menus and nutritional supplements in partnership with Food and Nutrition Services Manager.
- Patient, family, and caretaker dietary counseling.
- Performs and documents nutritional assessments and evaluates patient tolerance to therapeutic diets when appropriate.
- Maintains pertinent patient data necessary to recommend, prescribe, or modify therapeutic diets as needed to meet the nutritional needs of the patients.
- Nutritional needs must be met in accordance with recognized dietary practices and in accordance with orders of the practitioner responsible for the care of the patients.
- Adherence to recommended ADA nutrition care process standards for LHC's medical record documentation, using LHC approved electronic and/or paper forms and formats.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Coach of Diabetes Prevention Program
- Cardiac Nutrition classes as needed for Cardiac Rehab (Monthly to bimonthly)
- Home Health Nutrition/Diabetes
- Competent in use of telemedicine
- Good understanding of Motivational Interviewing techniques.
- Attend monthly high-risk OB meetings and participate as part of the care team in Gestational Diabetes Management.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
- B. S. in Nutrition and Dietetics with approved Commission on Dietetic Registration clinical training.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) with the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
- Licensed Dietitian in the State of Montana.
- Good communication and organizational skills
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in hospital and/or acute care setting desirable.
- Certified Diabetes Educator.
