Job Summary

(.25 FTE) The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for acquiring and reporting data to support the assessment of Revenue Cycle performance within Patient Financial Services. This includes providing detailed reports for each component of the Revenue Cycle, as defined by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

The Business Intelligence Analyst will also provide interim support to the Quality Manager and maintain the repository of reports and current clinical data tables in the on-site data warehouse. This support will be assessed in six-month increments to assist LHC with a smooth transition and ensure that previous functionality and reporting thoroughness are maintained.

(.75 FTE) The Business Intelligence Analyst will serve as the primary contact and lead for Accounts Receivable Self Pay. The BIA will analyze self-pay account trends and report findings, collaborate to learn best practices, and communicate insights back to LHC leadership. Based on leadership guidance, the BIA will engage external facilities as needed to gather additional recommendations and design improved processes. This role emphasizes problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and effective communication across internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable and patient-centered solutions.

Compensation

  • $35.82/hr DOE

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities

  • Lead the Accounts Receivable Self-Pay function by conducting data-driven analysis, reporting insights to leadership, and guiding process improvements based on evidence and best practices.
  • Reports gross margin and departmental stats for review with leadership to determine appropriate staffing and expenses.
  • Build, maintain, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for each component of the Revenue Cycle, in alignment with Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) standards.
  • Understand and integrate diverse financial data sources into LHC’s data infrastructure, ensuring they are structured for easy access and analysis to support facility needs.
  • Supports senior leadership and department managers in gathering and defining business requirements to properly design solutions for business users’ need for advanced analytic capability.
  • Supports financial BI solutions by monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues.

  • Maintains flexibility to adapt to a variety of workload assignments and changing priorities.
  • Job requires the ability to present to and teach groups of people.
  • Maintain working relationships cross-departmentally to assure appropriate levels of support and services.
  • Provides recommendations for strategies and resource allocation needed to meet system related goals.
  • Monitors quality improvement and auditing to ensure full compliance with federal and state guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required)

  • Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in Information Science, mathematics, business management or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare analytics/informatics and report development experience
  • Experience with visualization tools (SQL, Power BI)
  • Expertise with desktop data analytics tools (Excel, Access)

Additional Desirable Qualifications

  • Must be able to treat hospital, employee, and patient information as confidential.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Cerner or another Electronic Health Record preferred.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training may be substituted for education.
  • Knowledge of content and structure of a Health systems Charge master.
  • Knowledge of Hospital reimbursement systems
  • Knowledge of database structure and queries
  • Working knowledge of SQL or other relational database management system and Visual Basic preferred.
