High School Science Teacher
Living Water Christian School | Jacksonville, NC
Living Water Christian School is a growing Christ-centered school community seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator who is committed to academic excellence, discipleship, and helping students develop a Biblical worldview.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and one high school Bible courseat both the college preparatory and honors levels. Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) science courses is highly desirable as we continue to expand our academic offerings.
This position reports directly to the High School Principal.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and academic growth.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Create a positive and effective learning environment that supports a variety of learning styles.
- Model and reinforce the school's Warrior Honor Code in both word and action.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with parents and guardians.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Support and uphold the mission, vision, and educational philosophy of Living Water Christian School.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.
- Maintain established classroom routines, procedures, and schedules.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed, including scheduled conferences throughout the school year.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator or Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Education, Science, or a related field preferred.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- North Carolina teaching licensure or certification in grades 6–12 Science is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of effective instructional practices and 21st-century learning strategies.
- Ability to integrate technology into instruction and classroom management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the ability to support and articulate the school's Christian mission and values.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
