Project Manager – Oil & Gas

Location: Salem OR
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel: Up to 50% or as required by project needs

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee oil and gas projects from planning and execution through completion. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience within the oil and gas, energy, construction, or industrial sectors and be comfortable traveling to project sites as needed.

The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating personnel, contractors, vendors, budgets, schedules, safety requirements, and client expectations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage oil and gas projects from initiation through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and execution plans.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, operations, and field activities.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project personnel.
  • Monitor project costs, schedule performance, quality, and overall progress.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and provide status updates to leadership and clients.
  • Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Work closely with field teams and travel to project sites to monitor execution and resolve issues.
  • Review contracts, scopes of work, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered according to contractual requirements, quality standards, and established deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 years of project management experience, preferably within the oil and gas, energy, industrial, or construction industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and risk management.
  • Experience with project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand project plans, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project locations.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
  • Engineering or technical background.
  • Experience with upstream, midstream, downstream, pipeline, refinery, or petrochemical projects.
  • Experience managing large-scale capital projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, API, ASME, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Experience with project controls, estimating, procurement, and construction management.

Travel Requirements

This position requires regular travel to project sites, potentially including remote or industrial locations. Candidates must be willing and able to travel approximately 25–50%, with additional travel required depending on project demands.
