Position Summary
The Senior Merchandise Planner will collaborate with product managers as well as cross-functional business partners to drive financial results in maximizing sales, inventory levels and profitability. Will collaborate with the product mangers to create assortment plans and determine order quantities, leveraging historical data and incorporating merchandise strategies and trends.Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Own pre-season planning and open-to-buy management to achieve sales, margin, inventory turn, and GMROI targets.
Develop merchandise plans and SKU forecasts using historical data, sales trends, and market insights to ensure accurate inventory levels.
Leverage historical performance to identify key learnings on product, pricing, and inventory, applying insights to future seasons.
Spearhead strategic initiatives to expand categories through import programs, optimizing global sourcing, cost efficiency, and supply chain performance.
Establish multi-scenario plans and risk/opportunity frameworks for peak seasons and market shifts.
Analyze category sales performance, revise in-season plans, develop and maintain weekly/monthly merchandise reports to maximize profitability.
Lead monthly and weekly business reviews with cross-functional teams to present insights, align priorities, and drive decisions that optimize sales and inventory productivity.
Maintain minimums and WOS across multiple DCs, partner with Logistics to strategize receipts and communicate forecasts to vendors to ensure timely inventory flow and manage quick-ship programs to meet service levels.
Collaborate with vendors on container builds, MOQ compliance, and adjustments for timely flow of goods throughout the network.
Update product sales ratios by collection and review stocking positions to recommend store/web counts for optimal stock levels.
Oversee pricing strategies, including promotions and markdowns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with signage standards.
Support monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to review forecast assumptions and align inventory strategies.
Key in, revise, and maintain purchase orders (POs) while ensuring operational accuracy and timeliness.
Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Merchandising, Stores, Marketing, Visual, and other teams to drive business results.
Mentor Merchandise Associate Planner and Assistant Planner by creating training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B. S.) or equivalent from four-year college in merchandising or a business related field. 7 years of experience in retail merchandise planning. Proven ability to objectively interpret data and extract actionable insights that drive the business. Proficiency in retail math and experience managing a traditional open-to-buy. Merchandise planning for a multi-channel retail environment with eCommerce experience preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in MS Office products including Office 365 and Word. Strong proficiency in MS Excel. Experience using Alteryx or Tableau a plus

Position Hiring Range
The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant's education, relevant work experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data. Living Spaces reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.
Compensation: $98, $131,700.00Retail, Guest Services, and Distribution Center Team Members are eligible to receive team bonus based on meeting specific goals and KPI's.
