Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced irrigation technician to join our small team. We do specialty custom landscaping. The position is full time, with at least half time irrigation work. Remaining time is regularly landscape installations and detailed maintenance. This is a great position for someone that likes variety in their week.
YOU MUST HAVE A VALID FLORIDA DRIVERS LICENSE AND CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.
Duties
- Install new irrigation systems, including piping, controllers, valves, and sprinkler heads, ensuring precise setup and functionality
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of existing irrigation equipment to prevent failures and optimize performance
- Troubleshoot system issues using electrical diagnostics, system troubleshooting techniques, and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes
- Repair or replace damaged irrigation components such as valves, pumps, controllers, and sprinkler heads with efficiency and accuracy
- Perform excavation work necessary for system installation or repair projects while adhering to safety standards
- Manage irrigation system upgrades and modifications aligned with landscaping plans and client specifications
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system operations, maintenance procedures, and water-saving tips to clients
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work with various irrigation equipment and hand tools
- Experience with new irrigation system installation projects from start to finish
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics related to automated irrigation control systems
- Knowledge of landscaping principles and soil science relevant to irrigation needs
- Skilled in excavation techniques required for underground piping and system setup
- Familiarity with irrigation management practices for efficient water use and conservation
- Ability to troubleshoot complex irrigation systems and perform timely repairs under pressure
- Competence in operating power tools safely during installation or repair tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with clear communication abilities
