About the Position
LIVE is seeking a dynamic HR Staffing Specialist to join our team in Washington, DC. These positions will support the Department of Justice (DOJ) to provide staffing, strong recruitment, and hiring support to the Department of Justice's HR Services Staff and classifications support team. The estimated work hours for this role are 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
● Advises on strategic recruitment discussions, recruitment strategies, vacancy announcements, automated HR systems, appointment authorities, veteran's preference, Passover and objections, reductions in force, etc.
● Conducts one-on-one and group training on staffing.
● Performs staffing work that advises management on internal and external recruitment strategies
● Performs job analysis; recruitment and placement practices and procedures and examines, selects, and places employees
● Analyzes, interprets, and applies laws, regulations, policies, and/or guidance involving pay administration and advising management on use of compensation flexibilities to help recruit, manage, and retain employees.
● Codes Personnel Action Requests in a HR System.
Requirements:
● A minimum of five (5) years of highly technical experience related to human resources management
● Mastery of a wide range of advanced human resource management concepts, practices, laws, regulations, policies and precedents sufficient to provide comprehensive human resources management advisory/consultant services.
● Experience with USA Staffing.
● Knowledge and skill in consensus building, negotiating, coalition building, and conflict resolution techniques sufficient to interact appropriately in highly charged emotional situations.
● Expert knowledge of written and oral communication techniques sufficient to develop and deliver briefings, prepare correspondence, foster understanding and acceptance of findings, present arguments and advisory opinions, and coordinate activities among diverse individuals and institutions.
● Skill and ability to gather, analyze, evaluate, and interpret information to arrive at an opinion or decision.
● Skill in fact finding, analysis, and problem solving, sufficient to develop and implement innovative programs to meet mission and organizational objectives.
