Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day site activities, including operations, safety, compliance, customer service, scheduling, production/distribution support, and site readiness.
- Lead, schedule, train, and supervise site employees; coordinate work performed by contractors and vendors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture by ensuring employees follow company policies, PPE requirements, equipment safety practices, and established site procedures.
- Administer and maintain safety meetings, stormwater prevention planning requirements, site inspections, SDS books, and related compliance documentation.
- Monitor operational workflow, equipment usage, productivity, inventory awareness, and site organization to identify and implement process improvements.
- Set the example for exceptional customer service by supporting customers, addressing concerns, and proactively resolving complaints or service issues.
- Identify and support local customer sales opportunities within the site area, partnering with sales leadership and other internal teams as needed.
- Assist customers and internal sales/accounting staff with product information, pricing, invoices, statements, accounts receivable, collections, and debit/credit memo questions.
- Operate or oversee the safe use of heavy equipment, including front loaders, forklifts, excavators, and other site equipment as needed.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership, operations, sales, accounting, human resources, safety, hourly employees, vendors, and customers to support business needs.

Qualifications:Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, logistics, construction management, or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of hands-on supervisory or management experience in operations, distribution, building products, landscape materials, construction supply, mulch/soil products, or a similar environment preferred.
- Experience in the distribution of building products to contractors is preferred; counter-based customer service or sales experience is a plus.
- Experience operating or managing the use of heavy equipment, including front loaders, forklifts, excavators, or similar equipment, is strongly preferred.

- Impeccable work ethic, reliability, willingness to learn, and a hands-on leadership approach.
Licenses / Certifications
- Valid driver’s license preferred and may be required depending on assigned location and business needs.
- Company-required equipment training or certifications must be completed and maintained as applicable.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with Living Earth’s drug-free workplace requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position supervises the following roles: Site employees, equipment operators, yard personnel, laborers, and other site support employees; contractors and vendors as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and move throughout an outdoor production/distribution site for extended periods.
- Ability to work around and, when qualified, operate heavy equipment, machinery, trucks, and other site equipment safely.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Ability to work on uneven surfaces and in areas with dust, noise, moving equipment, and changing weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Work is performed primarily in an outdoor yard, production, and distribution environment with regular interaction with customers, employees, vendors, and equipment operators.
- The position may be exposed to heat, cold, rain, dust, noise, traffic, heavy equipment, and other site-related conditions.
- Personal protective equipment and strict adherence to safety procedures are required in designated areas.
Schedule and Compensation
Expected Schedule
- Full-time schedule, generally Monday through Friday with a half day on Saturday, as required by business needs.
- Additional hours may be required during peak seasons, high-volume periods, staffing needs, customer demands, or operational issues.
