CCTV Technician & Deployment Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Solutions & Deployment Engineer to lead the design, planning, and execution of CCTV and IP-based security system deployments. This role is responsible for end-to-end solution ownership—from initial site assessment and system design to installation oversight and client handover.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, working closely with installation teams; however, physical installation (cabling, mounting, etc.) is performed by dedicated technicians.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Pre-Deployment

Conduct site assessments and gather technical requirements Design CCTV and IP-based surveillance solutions (camera placement, network layout, storage) Support client discussions, technical demos, and solution recommendations

Deployment Planning & Execution

Plan and coordinate installations with internal teams and external installers Oversee on-site deployments to ensure quality and adherence to design Act as the primary technical point of contact during project execution

Networking & System Configuration

Configure and validate IP-based systems (cameras, NVRs, networking equipment) Ensure proper network setup (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE, routing basics) Troubleshoot system, network, and connectivity issues

Client Training & Handover

Provide system walkthroughs and basic training to clients Ensure successful commissioning and documentation of deployed systems Required Qualifications Experience designing and deploying IP-based CCTV / surveillance systems Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, routers, switches) Experience overseeing or coordinating technical installations Proven troubleshooting skills across hardware and network environments Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical clients Willingness to travel to project sites for assessments and deployment oversight (~20–40%) Nice to Have Experience with multiple CCTV/VMS platforms (e.g., Hikvision, Dahua, Avigilon, etc.) Exposure to access control or other low-voltage systems Basic project coordination or vendor management experience Pre-sales or client-facing technical support experience What Success Looks Like Deployments are delivered on time and meet design specifications Install teams are clearly guided and efficient on-site Systems are stable, properly configured, and easy for clients to use Clients feel confident and supported post-installation Summary
