Role Description
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Restaurant Server to join our vibrant dining team. In this role, you will be the friendly face that welcomes guests, takes orders, and ensures an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create memorable moments for our guests, fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere. A strong focus on customer service, food safety, and efficient service will be key to your success in this dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, utilizing reservation systems such as OpenTable when applicable
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff
- Use Toast POS systems to process orders, payments, and handle cash or card transactions efficiently
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities through suggestive selling techniques
- Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation standards are met while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation protocols
- Clear tables efficiently by bussing dishes, maintaining a tidy dining area, and assisting with food preparation or kitchen support as needed
- Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns quickly, and ensuring overall satisfaction throughout the dining experience
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience or food service background is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Toast & experience with OpenTable
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and excellent communication abilities
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking between serving, bussing, and assisting colleagues
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing simple calculations for bills or tips
- Understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in food industry roles such as serving, host/hostess duties, or food preparation enhances your candidacy
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations
