Account Coordinator (Media Relations)

We’re looking for a curious, driven, and confident recent college graduate who is ready to launch their career in media relations — not sales, advertising, or digital marketing. You’ll work directly alongside senior strategists and gain immediate, hands-on experience pitching stories to national reporters, shaping narratives for top-tier clients, and seeing your work land in major outlets.

The starting salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000, with rapid advancement potential. Live Wire offers a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, 401(k) matching, profit sharing, and significant retention bonuses at your 3-, 5-, 7-, and 10-year anniversaries.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor breaking news and identify opportunities where Live Wire’s clients can shape the story.
• Build and maintain targeted media lists across national, regional, and trade outlets.
• Draft and edit press materials including media advisories, press releases, and talking points.
• Assist in crafting and distributing pitches that capture journalists’ attention.
• Support client interviews, press briefings, and events from planning through execution.
• Conduct research on reporters, industries, and competitors to inform strategic media plans.
• Track, analyze, and report on earned media coverage.
• Prepare meeting agendas and recaps for clients.
• Participate in team and client meetings, contributing insights and follow-through.
• Support project management, timelines, and deliverables across multiple accounts.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field.
• Strong interest in media relations, current events, and storytelling.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented and resourceful, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Collaborative, energetic, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Cision, Meltwater, or Muck Rack is a plus.
