Progressive Care Nurse (PCU)
Provide high-acuity, evidence-based nursing care for medically complex patients in a fast-paced progressive care unit. Monitor unstable patients and manage cardiac/telemetry monitoring, including interpreting changes and responding appropriately.
Key Duties
- Assess patients and perform ongoing monitoring to identify clinical deterioration.
- Manage cardiac/telemetry equipment and maintain accurate patient data.
- Titrate IV drips, administer medications, and follow clinical protocols.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, therapists, and other team members.
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education for safe transitions of care.
- Strong critical thinking and assessment skills for high-acuity care.
- Proficient medication administration and IV drip titration.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and families.
