Role Description The Dietary Aide is a full-time, on-site role located in Park Ridge, NJ. This role supports the dietary department by assisting with meal preparation, portioning, and serving food to residents in accordance with prescribed diets and facility standards. The Dietary Aide helps set up and clean dining areas, ensures dishes and kitchen equipment are properly washed and sanitized, and follows food safety and infection control procedures. Day-to-day tasks include preparing simple menu items, stocking supplies, assisting with tray delivery and retrieval, and responding to resident requests in a courteous and professional manner. The Dietary Aide works closely with the dietary team and nursing staff to support residents’ nutritional needs and a positive dining experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in food preparation and basic nutrition awareness to support safe, appropriate meals for residents.
- Candidates should possess skills in food service and customer service to ensure respectful, timely, and resident-focused dining experiences.
- Candidates should possess skills in dishwashing and general kitchen sanitation to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Relevant experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or food service setting is beneficial.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, adhere to dietary guidelines, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance, strong time management, and the ability to stand, walk, and lift light to moderate loads throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; food safety or ServSafe certification is a plus.
