Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to ensure healthy and attractive outdoor areas
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Install and repair hardscape features like pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Identify various plant species and perform plant care including pruning, trimming trees, and managing pests with pesticide application when necessary
- Conduct seasonal clean-up activities such as snow plowing in winter or leaf removal during fall to keep landscapes pristine year-round
- Follow all safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of landscaping equipment and power tools with the ability to operate them safely
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, tree care, and groundskeeping practices
- Ability to identify plants accurately and understand horticultural principles for optimal plant health
- Knowledge of pesticide management techniques aligned with safety standards
- Experience working outdoors in various weather conditions with a focus on safety protocol adherence
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape installation adds value to project execution
