What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Development Teacher, Site Supervisor position at Live Oak Elementary School District?
SUMMARY: Site Supervisor will oversee basic operations of children's center for 5-12 year olds. He/she will mentor staff in curriculum development, child assessment, parent relations and ensure that center maintains compliance with Title 5 Regulations. Site Supervisor must possess a Site Supervisor Permit or, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and have had previous experience utilizing these skills.
NATURE AND SCOPE: Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, Site Supervisor will develop quality weekly lesson plans and regularly assess children according to State standards and developmentally appropriate practices. Develop behavior plans for children who may be at risk. Maintain student developmental profiles and portfolios and conduct parent/teacher conferences on a regular basis. Mentor program assistants to achieve a string sense of teamwork. Requires strong communication skills necessary to work with program staff, regular day teaching staff, parents, and students. Participate in annual program self study. Work calendar will be 220 days and will be reviewed with supervisor before approval. Daily hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (may require additional time for staff development and training).
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This is a partially funded child care center for children who have parents working, or involved in a training program. This program provides the family with parenting support and children with their development through toddler and preschool stages. Must demonstrate successful experience teaching, supervising and working in children's center with a diverse socio and economically group of children. Knowledgeable in development of stages for this age group.
