Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the entire billing process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, reviewing claims for accuracy, and appealing denied claims.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate waiver claims using the Electronic Medicaid Waiver System (EMWS).
- Prepare and submit accurate billing claims with Medicaid or Medicare
- Review records to verify the completeness and correctness of documentation supporting billing codes.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, working diligently to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim submissions, payments, and adjustments for audit purposes.
- Stay updated on changes in medical coding regulations, insurance policies, and billing best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, guardians, and internal teams to resolve billing issues promptly.
Skills
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare systems and platforms for efficient claim processing and record management.
- Familiarity with billing processes, insurance claim submission procedures, and proper coding
- Ability to navigate complex insurance policies
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing activities.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers, insurers, and guardians.
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
