Adult Day Health Transportation Driver
LivActive Adult Day Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and safety-focused Adult Day Health Transportation Driver to join our growing team. This is much more than a driving position. Our drivers are an important part of our participants' day, ensuring they are transported safely, comfortably, and with dignity to and from our Adult Day Health program and, when needed, to scheduled medical and other approved appointments.
Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday-Friday
- Schedule will vary based on participant transportation needs, including transportation to and from the Adult Day Health Center and scheduled medical or other approved appointments.
Compensation
- Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Safely transport participants to and from the Adult Day Health Center.
- Provide transportation to scheduled medical and other approved appointments for participants attending the program that day.
- Assist participants entering and exiting the vehicle safely and with dignity.
- Safely operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles, wheelchair lifts, and secure wheelchairs using proper tie-down systems.
- Assist participants using walkers, canes, and other mobility devices.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Communicate professionally with participants, caregivers, medical offices, and LivActive staff regarding transportation schedules.
- Follow all transportation safety policies, Massachusetts regulations, and company procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service while treating every participant with patience, compassion, and respect.
Qualifications
- Valid Massachusetts Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card) or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and driving record requirements.
- Previous experience transporting older adults or individuals with disabilities is required.
- Experience operating wheelchair-accessible vehicles, wheelchair lifts, and wheelchair tie-down systems is required.
- Experience with Adult Day Health, non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, assisted living communities, senior transportation, or similar healthcare settings is strongly preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, reliability, professionalism, and a genuine desire to serve others.

This is not a delivery or rideshare driving position. We are seeking experienced transportation professionals who have worked with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities and understand safe passenger assistance, wheelchair transportation, and compassionate customer service.
