Prepare lesson plans and activities, deliver effective ELD instruction for students in grades K-5.

Knowledge of the most current research and practice regarding curriculum and methodologies related to the instruction of English Learners.

Ability to co-teach, design ELD interventions, and build positive relationships with colleagues.

Prepare, administer, and grade tests and assignments in order to evaluate students' progress, including state standardized assessments.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Itinerant ELD Teacher serves multilingual learners across Arapahoe and Heritage High Schools. This role includes providing direct language development instruction, collaborating with content teachers to support sheltered practices, and partnering with school teams to ensure equitable access to grade-level curriculum. The itinerant teacher works across both sites to maintain program consistency and strengthen multilingual learner pathways.
Provide instruction and support to multilingual students in coordination with a standards based curriculum and within the framework of district and state content standards. Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work cooperatively with students, parents, and staff required. Working knowledge of subject matter assigned, classroom management, best practices and strategies, students' learning styles and needs.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
Successful applicants must be properly licensed for assignment as a Professional Educator according to the Colorado Department of Education.
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) Endorsement preferred.
STARTING SALARY RANGE: (Annual salary schedule based on 1.0 FTE)
WORK YEAR: 187 contract days (district educator calendar)

NOTE: While you may look up your estimated salary on the linked salary schedule, updates for the 2026-2027 school year are contingent upon negotiated increases that are approved by the LPS Board of Education in the summer season. Additionally, know that these salary values are based on a 1.0 FTE working 187 contract days.
